Background

As a Product Designer at Havenly, one of my responsibilities included creating marketing collateral for their website. Havenly is the number one interior design platform, and the preeminent destination for individuals seeking personalized and professional design expertise to transform their living spaces. In the wake of the pandemic, the demand for accessible and tailored design solutions surged, and the need for captivating marketing collateral became paramount.

With a team of expert designers, Havenly provides tailored design solutions that cater to individual tastes, preferences, and budget constraints. From comprehensive room makeovers to thoughtful decor suggestions, Havenly is dedicated to delivering a curated experience that brings dream spaces to life. Furthermore, Havenly is an e-commerce platform, offering a vast selection of high quality furnishings, decor, and accessories. Overview

The following is a curated selection of web pages designed for both Havenly and The Inside. Crafted to draw people in while embodying the essence and versatility of services provided by both entities, these pages not only furnish essential information but also showcase their respective value propositions, and highlight examples of Havenly’s designs—aiming to convert potential customers.

It was imperative for The Inside's refreshed appearance to resonate with Havenly, yet remain authentic to its original ethos and unique value proposition.

The Inside

In crafting the new homepage for The Inside following its acquisition by Havenly, the chief objective was to preserve its distinctive identity, while seamlessly integrating it into the Havenly ecosystem. It was imperative for The Inside's refreshed appearance and brand essence to resonate with Havenly, yet remain authentic to its original ethos and unique value proposition. My goal was to create an inviting, thoughtful design that extends a warm welcome to visitors, all while infusing a burst of personality and vibrant hues that encapsulate The Inside's core tenets playfulness and fun.

I aimed to infuse an editorial essence that would captivate viewers and narrate the story of The Inside. To achieve this, I prioritized striking imagery of customizable furnishings. A range of social proof elements and customer testimonials were integrated to foster a sense of trust and reinforce The Inside's reputation for quality and dependability. I wove in subtle pops of lime and orange to mirror The Inside's commitment to customization based on individual tastes and personalities. To introduce a tactile and illustrative touch, I opted for fabric swatches as a design element. These were subtly layered beneath content, lending depth to the composition, while the scalloped edges inspired illustrative elements that added both visual intrigue and a touch of personality. The display typeface was selected for its perfect blend of readability and refined elegance. It strikes a harmonious balance, allowing for the incorporation of vibrant fabric patterns while maintaining a timeless feel.

By creating a streamlined showcase of Havenly's design process and projects, a missing piece in converting potential clients was remedied, offering a more comprehensive view behind the scenes, and ultimately fostering trust.

Project Overview

Even though there was sufficient messaging throughout Havenly’s website to describe their offerings and services, there seemed to be a missing piece when it came to converting new clients. There wasn’t any place where potential customers could see for themselves how Havenly worked and what Havenly’s interior designers were capable of achieving—from start to finish. Without this piece, new Havenly clients would be required to make a leap of faith without feeling fully informed about what they were signing on for and what steps were involved. For these reasons, it was decided that we needed several new pages dedicated to showcasing Havenly interior design projects and everything that happens behind the scenes.

Around this time, we also started focusing on location specific markets, in order to optimize our SEO presence. The template I created showcases a Havenly design project based in Denver, but can be customized based on any market location. I wanted this layout to feel clean and simple, like the Havenly design process itself. I ensured the key pieces of information about the project—the designer name, location, design style, package type, and room type—were featured above the fold. Following this, I created a section dedicated to each phase of the process. I included the “before” pictures of the room for Phase 1, the designer’s proposed moodboards for Phase 2, the final design concept and layout for Phase 3, and a “before and after” slider for maximum impact. Complementing these visuals are descriptions of each phase, coupled with a client testimonial, e-commerce section linking to featured design items, a call-to-action segment, and related design projects within the same market location.

By creating a streamlined showcase of Havenly's design process and projects, a missing piece in converting potential clients was remedied, offering a more comprehensive view behind the scenes, and ultimately fostering trust.

Translating the essence of Havenly's online platform to a brick-and-mortar setting, this page bridged the gap between virtual and real-world experiences, inviting guests to step into a world of curated design possibilities.

Popup Shop

The opening of a pop-up shop and showroom in New York City marked a pivotal moment for Havenly. It provided an opportunity for the company to extend their reach beyond the digital realm, offering visitors a firsthand experience with a curated selection of furniture and decor available for tactile exploration. Additionally, the showroom doubled as an events hub and offered free consultations with expert interior designers, granting potential customers direct exposure to Havenly's expertise. This provided a rare chance for people to forge a personal connection with the brand. Raising awareness about this new location was paramount, as it embodied the core values of Havenly. The marketing collateral had to be clear, engaging, and visually appealing.

Because this page served as the virtual gateway to the physical experience, I prioritized imagery of the location space and ensured easy access to vital information. Logistics and a concise overview of the popup shop's offerings are immediately available above the fold. Below, a preview of featured upcoming events aims to entice visitors and generate interest in the event space. A 'Shop the Showroom' section was integrated to offer a tangible preview of items available to experience hands on—an increasingly scarce opportunity in today's predominantly e-commerce landscape. A section devoted to the the popup shop's complimentary consultations—a significant attraction—includes a prominent 'Book Now' CTA that seamlessly launches an intuitive scheduling flow. To round off the page, an informative section outlines Havenly's array of services and design offerings.

I opted for a simple, straightforward, and intuitive design, avoiding an excess of content to ensure the primary focus was on enticing visitors into the store itself. By integrating vivid imagery, an intuitive flow of content, and compelling copy, the page both enticed and informed potential attendees, setting the stage for an immersive in-person encounter.
